Mission Accomplished! (But still open for business...)

This project has many aims; first among them is to entertain and, if need be, cheer up Norfolk's elderly population. We also aim to capture some beautiful reminiscences to be held at the Norfolk Records Office's sound archive. In our efforts to achieve this I wanted to perform a minimum of ten concerts.

Today I am happily able to announce that we've done it! I have spread out our bookings from last October to this July, and we have the ten I was looking for.

But that doesn't mean we are not taking any other bookings...if you want us, we will still try and come to you. The project will finish in August this year, but that's not to say that the team couldn't be persuaded to do a concert here and there if required.

Mayfields, Long Stratton

Our project moved into 2014 with a lovely Pop Up Proms concert for the residents of Mayfields in Long Stratton. Mayfields is an extensive care home with additional sheltered housing, and residents were brought in from all parts of the complex to enjoy an evening of singing and flag-waving.

Here are a few pictures to remember the evening. Big thanks to the cast who joined me, that's the usual suspects : Sally, Heather, Joan, Gus and Martyn.

If you would like to book us to entertain the elderly folks near you, please contact Rachel by clicking on the contact page above.

Pop Goes The New Year

After a lovely Christmas break it's time to get back on the Pop Up Proms trail and sing "wagons roll" at the tops of our voices.

First up this year is Mayfield House in Long Stratton and I am massively looking forward to it! I have a super troup of volunteer performers to whom I am so grateful, and it looks like it will be another great show.

My target for the project was to perform at ten different venues, collecting that all-important audio history as we go. We've completed two concerts and have six more definite bookings, so just a couple more will hit the jackpot.

Prommers please keep your eyes peeled for updates on the Pop Up Proms facebook page.
